Raw Elements sunscreen dispensers have been installed at Narragansett Town Beach

,

Raw Element Sunscreen Dispensers were recently made available to the general public at Narragansett Town Beach in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The goal of making sunscreen widely available across the Ocean State was to assist residents and visitors in taking actions to reduce their chance of developing skin cancer. These dispensers were made using environmentally friendly backboards and lightweight composite recyclable material. The sunscreen dispenser was installed for the first time in 2017 and produced outstanding results. Narragansett was one of the first communities in the United States to distribute free sunscreen to visitors to their town beach via dispensers in 2017. In 2019, Narragansett Town Beach alone received 22,000 free sunscreen dispenses. Since the program’s start, public use of sunscreen has climbed year after year. In 2019, Governor Gina Raimondo unveiled a new strategy to invest in these Rhode Island assets, the beaches,  and parks, for the benefit of future generations. All Rhode Island State Beaches and other parks have had certified, natural, and environmentally safe sunscreen dispensing stations since the summer of 2019.
